Steele's Sunday Suit!
Sunday, November 9th, 2014
Steele seemed to really enjoy this cute, lil' suit and bowtie, compliments of Pastors Tony & Gwen Brock of our church home, Hope and Life Fellowship in Snellville, GA (metro Atlanta area.)
Patrick and I were both (how we say in the south,) 'raised in the church!' We knew the difference between our "Sunday clothes" and our regular "play clothes." It was most definitely not okay to climb the tree in my Grandparent's yard while still wearing my dress, 'frilly socks, and white, patent leather, gold buckled shoes!
Although many people are moving away from the traditional Sunday-best attire that many of us "Southern baptist reared" folk are accustomed to, our goal as Steele River's parents is to instill the value of presenting your best before God in the house of the Lord.
Now, we aren't saying that Steele will be rocking a three piece suit every Sunday! We are new parents, but we aren't naive ones! Kids will be kids. But we will teach him about how to respect, love and honor the church, right from the very start!
